Coach Mike Perrino is in his second year with the John Carroll University lacrosse program. He serves as an assistant coach under second year head coach, Joe Rautenstrauch.
During the 2017 season, Perrino helped lead the Blue Streaks to a 13-5 (8-0 OAC) record. He was also a part of the first coaching staff to lead John Carroll to their first NCAA tournament victory in program history.
Prior to John Carroll, Perrino spent two seasons at Canisius College as a player.
Perrino began his college career at Wooster College in 2012, where he had 19 points and was a huge contributor to the team tallying fourteen goals and five assists in fourteen games. He was also no stranger to the faceoff ‘X’ where he had a 53.4% on faceoffs for his career. He then transitioned to Roanoke College in 2013, where he appeared in three games, and tallied two goals. After leaving Roanoke, he spent time at Canisius.
In 2015, he appeared in four games and was named to the MAAC All-Academic Team. He continued his fine form into his senior year at Canisius, where he appeared in all twelve games and recorded six points with three goals and three assists. He had a career best three points in a game, tallying three assists against Robert Morris. He also added goals against Sienna, Manhattan and Quinnipiac in the MAAC tournament. He was named to the MAAC All-Academic Team for the second time in two years to end his college career.
Perrino is currently a member of the Ohio Machine, a major league lacrosse team in Columbus, Ohio.He has also spent time coaching local club lacrosse with Burning River and The Force lacrosse clubs.
