Career Synopsis

  • The 2017-18 season is Schmoldt’s fourth year as head coach of the Heidelberg men’s lacrosse program


  • In its inagural season, coached the Student Princes to a 3-13 record
  • Led the Berg to its first-ever program victory — a double overtime thriller at Monmouth (Ill.)
  • Coached All-OAC selection Chris Storrs
  • Mentored Tyler Hammack to Academic All-OAC honors


  • Spent the season at Heidelberg preparing the program for the upcoming inaugural year of varsity competition


  • Served as assistant lacrosse coach and defensive coordinator at Oberlin College
  • Helped Yeomen string together three straight winning seasons for the first time since the early 90s


  • Served as head coach for John Carroll University’s club lacrosse team prior to it becoming a recognized varsity team
  • Responsible for day-to-day operations of the team, including recruiting and fundraising
  • Led team to 51-40 record during his tenure


  • Taught and served as assistant lacrosse coach at Saint Ignatius High School

Collegiate Experience

  • 2001 Graduate of Marquette University
  • Four-year starter and two-year captain on Marquette’s club lacrosse team
  • Two-time All-Conference honoree as a defenseman
